School and Community Consultations

Some children have difficulties learning in a classroom or participating with their peers in activities. This may be related to challenges with balance, strength, endurance, motor planning or coordination. We work with families, teachers, and community partners to determine if there is a physical cause for a child’s challenges and create a plan to address them.

Formal Assessment

We also provide formalized assessment of gross motor skills, movement and coordination to help parents seeking a medical diagnosis or to access funding.

I love Community Based Physiotherapy! Having our son receive his therapy in our own neighbourhood playgrounds and back yard has decreased my son’s anxiety and he is highly motivated because he is familiar with the environment. He has made gains in just 4 sessions because he is comfortable, and as parents, we can practice what we learn easily and often because its close to home! Our son’s confidence, happiness and gross motor skills have increased and he is actually requesting to go from playground to playground now!  Carol L.
